On Monday I went to Kampong Speu with Youth Network for Changes (YNC). YNC is a voluntary youth network and working to counteract these trends by facilitating dynamic social development in Cambodia’s poorest regions. The trip was to distribute some gifts for the orphans in orphan center in Kampong Speu province.
The trip is really wonderful, I laugh a lot during the trip. Nara and Pheara are a real DJ. Their act made the people on the bus happy and enjoy, they sang, they talked and they told joke stories.
When we arrived, we got a really warm welcome from the center owner. The place is very organized and the kids were ready.

The organized very good, balloons, backdrop and the kids gather around in order to greet us.

This is the picture of head of the center and his daughter. They are using their salary in order to let the center survives and the vendor in the markets also kind they lent them some foods and supplies for kids and the head of center will pay them back in the end of the month.

Volunteers teachers in the centers!
After finishing pick up all the things needed for the kids and finishing the introduction. Professor Sambo Manara, which is the one of the motivation for YNC, reading the speech in order to open the program.

This is his picture.
After that we choose a group of four or five people taking kids about five to ten kids to gather in different places. When I get a suitable place, I started to introduce them who I am and let them introduce one by one to make sure that they are not afraid me. One man coming to join with me and I forgot to know his name
. We start talking to them about general things such as where is Angkor Wat allocated, how should you keep yourself clean somethings like that. Really regret that I cannot think of a lot of things to teach them but next time I promise to gather all the information needed to talk to them. Oh! I really appreciate those kids, they quiet smart and honest (maybe the head of the center provided them a lot of good care).

This is the kids in my group. They look smart, don’t they?
Then we went back to the same place with all of the kids. We sang songs together and after the song Professor started to ask them some questions and gave them gifts (book, pen, pencil, sweets….)
Next, two group of kids come to show us the Khmer dance Robam Kus Tralork and Robam Chun Por. Another group of kids showing the comedian to us. They performed a good show, it’s really interested.

When finish all the performance, we leaved them and continue to Kirirom Resort in order to have lunch there. After lunch I took some walks with a group of friends (neak na mean ku ke tov teang ku ta khom ort mean ku te cheng teal ta tov teang group). After walk, I went back and playing card with Bong Virak, Bong Tyta and his wife Bong Mono, Bong Phina, Pu Saren, Nara. Even I didn’t win but I feel happy.
Then we went back to PP, really really tired but still Nara and Pheara tried to perform their roles by making all of us happy until we arrived PP.
It’s quite a long post, but to sum up I got a happy time and feel really good. It was a small thing that I provide to the kids but still I did something really good and hope one day YNC will change the situation of our countries become better. You done a good job guys!
